Mia Stein
You pull the covers over you and turn away from your partner, too ashamed to face them. Your thoughts race: there’s no way anyone could want you after what just happened, your desires are wrong, you’ll never feel close—or confident—again. Talking about it feels even worse, so you retreat to the shower and hope it all fades. But the self-judgment stays, looping long after the moment has passed, keeping you awake at night.
Whether this comes from growing up in a sex-negative culture, struggling with your sexual identity, feeling disconnected from desire or pleasure, or navigating a body and experience that don’t always align with what you want, the result can feel the same: shame, isolation, and silence. And still, there’s often a quieter voice that says it doesn’t have to stay this way—even if it feels terrifying to believe.
Adults of all ages come to me carrying shame, anxiety, heartache, and disconnection they’ve often held alone for too long. I also support individuals across the LGBTQIA+ community in exploring identity, intimacy, and relationships in ways that feel affirming and authentic. I hold MA and EdM degrees from Columbia University and bring a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and paced approach to this work. Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone—we can shoulder it together.
Together, we’ll work to deepen your understanding of your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. We’ll build an individualized toolbox rooted in your strengths, values, and support system so you can move through life with more ease, connection, and self-understanding.
I currently have availability for individuals, couples, and polycules. If you’ve been carrying shame, confusion, or disconnection, I invite you to imagine what it might feel like to move through these parts of yourself with more ease and self-acceptance. That shift is possible. Reach out to schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation, and let’s begin!
